TRAFFIC CONTROL AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COG
Gainesville, FL
This 40,000 SF state-of-the-art facility for the operation of the City of Gainesville traffic management, emergency, and administrative facilities was designed as a hurricane-hardened structure for near-absolute protection from an ultimate wind level event of 180 MPH. Our solution consisted of precast concrete sandwich wall panels, precast floor and roof systems to provide operational safety and support the green roof terrace. Additionally, we provided structural enhancement of the existing adjoining facility. The project achieved LEED Silver Certification. Among our design solutions to achieve LEED was the use of the demolished casting-bed concrete in portions of the building, which contributed multiple innovation credits.
