SAN JUAN Morro Castle Stabilization Project, San Juan, PR

We had to structurally reinforce the historic building and ensure it was protected from future earthquakes and hurricanes. The building’s structure is supported by stone buttresses built in the 1600s. SEP Engineers were required to ensure the future stability of the fortress without altering or changing the existing, historic structure. The fortress took 160 years to construct and a history lesson was required before working on the project.
