DAYTONA Hotel and Condo - Daytona Beach, FL

Mixed-use facility consisting of two thirty-one story towers, 350 feet tall, and one fourteen-story tower, 15 feet tall situated seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line and subject to special coastal construction requirements. Structure has nine levels of elevated parking, a ballroom and convention hall, and two elevated pool decks, one on Level 2 and the other on Level 9. Coastal construction requirements below the lowest structural member were addressed through frangible wall construction of non-lateral and bearing elements and design for hydrodynamic forces of lateral and loadbearing elements subject to wave action. The design consists of a two-way post-tensioned concrete system laterally supported by shear wall cores and coupling beams. Towers support transfer above ballroom and convention spaces through the use of stage-stressed transfer beam elements.
