MIAPOLIS COMPLEX
Miami, FL
SEP provided structural concept design solutions for this proposed LEED Platinum Certified 160-story mixed-use facility 3,200-FT in height reported in 2010 to surpass the Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai. The proposed project consisted of an amusement park, a trade center, an observatory, rotating sky-lounge, a shopping mall, restaurants, condominiums, office space, and a hotel and marina, all to be built on a 28-acre site. The structural solution incorporated buttressed cores and geometric features conceptualized to address vortex shedding and twisting of the tall, slender tower. Although the project was not constructed as planned, SEP is presently investing resources in reviving this project concept and developing it into a reality.
