NORTHEAST DISTRICT COMMAND CENTER
Davenport, FL
This 100,000 SF state-of-the-art facility for the emergency response and operation of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in the Northeast District was designed as a hurricane-hardened structure for near-absolute protection from an ultimate wind level event of 180 MPH. The design solution consisted of precast concrete wall panels and structural steel framing coupled with high-impact windows and doors and a combination of passive barriers and 30 MPH impact-rated bollards as anti-terrorism force protection to prevent deliberate and accidental vehicle impact. The space consists of a community hall, emergency operations, offices, training center, fitness center, sally-port and canine facilities, heavy vehicle storage, and jail cells. The project achieved LEED Silver certification. Additionally, our commitment with providing expedited construction services support resulted in the project being completed under budget and two months ahead of schedule.
