OUR CAPABILITIES

Respond
Whether natural or activated, when disaster strikes
SEP
strives to be on the front lines. We are problem solvers and have the capability to assess and analyze structural distress and failures. Through internal research and development, we also study how to prevent and mitigate from future disasters.

↓ Emergency Response
SEP
provides emergency response for both natural and “activated” disasters, a term coined by our principal, Joel, in his lecture to the ASCE/SEI National Structures Congress in 2013. We respond to structures damaged by fire, collisions, blast, and natural disasters.
SEP is registered in the Federal contractor database as a vendor to provide disaster response services. To find out more, click here to go to our Government Services section.
If you are a private owner, property manager, or a non-Federal public agency seeking assistance due to structural distress, damage, or failure, please click here to provide your information.
↓ Natural Disasters
The moments after a natural disaster are critical in the process of assessing structural damage. During this period, SEP is able to collect critical evidence about a structure and utilize this information to develop a structural mitigation plan or advise potential occupants of potential safety concerns.
In the public sector, SEP partners with key agencies on a proactive basis so that contract terms and scope can be negotiated ahead of time. This allows us to be on-call and ready when we are needed.
For private clients, SEP's three-step contractual process allows us to deploy to your building site to collect this vital information and focus urgently on investigating your structures without extensive red tape.
A partial list of the natural disasters we respond to are:
- EARTHQUAKES
- FLOOD AND STORM SURGE
- HURRICANES, TORNADOES, AND OTHER WIND EVENTS
- SOIL DESTABILIZATION
- TSUNAMI EVENT
